ABOUT ME

My informal bio:
I earned my Bachelors of Science (Honors, cum laude) from the University of Delaware with a degree in Biochemistry. Next, I went to Rutgers University, where I earned a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. My graduate research involved new methods to study the interferon-gamma receptor complex in intact cells. My post-graduate research involved evolutionary immunology, biophysical immunology, plasmid vector design and stem cell engineering. I accumulated over 20 years of research experience.
In the next stage of my career, I decided to get involved in start-up companies and entrepreneurial adventures! I am returning to my roots as a tutor, because one-on-one education is most effective and most enjoyable, and 20 years of research gave me a highly-tuned sense of problem-solving. I have been a chief science office for two start-up companies, and I have my own entrepreneurial dreams. I also am a consultant so my highest experience can be paid forward to those who need it most. I also got involved in videogpaphy and specialized photography, specializing in near-infrared and near-ultraviolet photography, low-light and and underwater photography.
I currently teach various pre-nursing, pre-medical, and pre-professional biological sciences as an Assistant Professor at Indian River State College, including anatomy & physiology, biochemistry and cell biology. As my first dedications are to my students and the school, I have slowed down my updating of these pages; for that I apologize.
